TBLT
TBLT IS approach which uses the concept of task to both introduce and practise language forms.
TBLT SHOULD NOT BE SEEN AS A TOTAL ALTERNATIVE TO PPP BUT IT SHOULD BE
IMPLEMENTED AS IT OFFERS STUDENTS A VERY DIFFERENT LEARNING EXPERIENCE,
THE KINDS OF INTERACTION IN TBL WHICH ARE NEEDED TO PROVIDE THE LEARNERS
WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF USING AND LEARNING LG THAT MATCHES MORE CLOSELY
WITH WHAT THEY WILL HAVE TO DO IT IN REAL LIFE
This is what Ken Robinson believes as one of the main proponents of this approach.
I think one couldn’t agree more. In everyday teaching practice there are a lot of opportunities
to introduce a TBLT approach and luckily it does no involve a total revolution in the way of teaching.
What is more, this is what most of us do ona regular basis not even realizing this is called TBL.
I think that what teachers should do is to implement TBLT more consciously,
with their methodological eyes open to cater for students’ needs and to achieve their teaching aims
more effectively.
